Origin Story: The Lone Ranger, whose secret identity was John Reid, was the sole survivor of an ambush that killed his fellow Texas Rangers. He was nursed back to health by his childhood friend, Tonto, and chose to wear a mask and fight for justice, leaving a silver bullet as his calling card.
Catchphrase: The character's famous catchphrase was "Hi-yo, Silver, away!" which he would shout to his horse, Silver, at the end of each episode.
Actors: While Clayton Moore is the actor most famously associated with the role, he was replaced for a season by actor John Hart due to a contract dispute.
