The Lone Ranger
Door Panel 3 sheet, The Lone Ranger
is a fictional masked former Texas Ranger who fought outlaws in the American Old West with his Native American companion, Tonto. The character is considered an enduring icon of American culture and was originally created for a radio show in 1933.
The most successful screen adaptation was the television series that aired from 1949 to 1957, which starred Clayton Moore as the Lone Ranger and Jay Silverheels as Tonto. The image provided is a life-size poster of Clayton Moore in his iconic role.
About the Character and Series

Origin Story: The Lone Ranger, whose secret identity was John Reid, was the sole survivor of an ambush that killed his fellow Texas Rangers. He was nursed back to health by his childhood friend, Tonto, and chose to wear a mask and fight for justice, leaving a silver bullet as his calling card.
Catchphrase: The character's famous catchphrase was "Hi-yo, Silver, away!" which he would shout to his horse, Silver, at the end of each episode.
Actors: While Clayton Moore is the actor most famously associated with the role, he was replaced for a season by actor John Hart due to a contract dispute. Moore later returned to the role and was deeply protective of the character, even fighting a lawsuit in 1979 to continue appearing in public as the Lone Ranger
