The 1911 celebrations were major national events, with related exhibitions also held in Turin and Florence. The Rome exhibition included several components: an international fine arts exhibition, an international architecture competition, an ethnographic exhibition with regional pavilions, and various congresses and popular festivals. The exhibition also marked the inauguration of several new monuments in Rome, including the Victor Emmanuel II Monument (Vittoriano). |
