1967–1970 (The Blue Album): Covers their later, more psychedelic and complex musical period.
The Iconic Cover Art
The posters feature the identical poses of the band members looking down a stairwell, highlighting their dramatic visual transformation over six years:
Location: The stairwell of EMI House at 20 Manchester Square, London (demolished in 1995).
Photographer: Both photos were taken by Angus McBean.
The Photos: The "Red" photo is an outtake from the 1963 shoot for their debut album, Please Please Me. The "Blue" photo was taken in May 1969, originally intended for the shelved Get Back album project. |
