This document is an original 1945 World War II Commemorative Service Certificate. Printed by the A.E.G. Company (as noted in the lower right corner), these highly decorative lithographs were produced for veterans and their families as a treasured keepsake to honor their service in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Key Features
• Central Layout: Features a dedicated oval cutout section in the upper-center designated to "Place Photo in this" so families could mount a photograph of their serving loved one.
• Patriotic Border: The entire piece is framed by an elaborate border interlocking distinct military service insignias, including branches of the Army, Navy, Air Corps, and Marines.
• Vivid Wartime Illustration: Captures dramatic, colorful lithographic vignettes of wartime operations—such as infantrymen firing in trenches, military aircraft sweeping through the skies, and naval ships maneuvering in heavy ocean swells. |
