One sheet vintage railway poster created around 1946. The artwork was painted by the renowned British architectural and landscape artist Claude Buckle (1905–1973). It was jointly commissioned by the Great Western Railway (GWR) and the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail travel to the coastal resort. The composition depicts a stylish young couple strolling along the promenade with the coastal town and beach curving behind them, framed beautifully by classical seafront columns. |
