Why Bow Your Back

Why Bow Your Back - Before (Poster) One sheet original "Why Bow Your Back? Let's Agree to Agree" workplace motivational poster. Created in 1929 by artist Willard Frederic Elmes for Mather & Company in Chicago. This lithograph was part of the Mather Work Incentive series distributed by subscription to corporate workplaces between 1923 and 1929. The series aimed to boost productivity, safety, and cooperation prior to the Great Depression. It uses the visual metaphor of an arching black cat facing a French bulldog to discourage office bickering. Extremely rare vintage originals carry significant collector value.
