Davos

Mounted One sheet vintage travel poster for Davos, Switzerland, created by the Swiss design duo Walter Kern and Arnold Bosshard. The poster was issued around 1948 or 1949 to promote Davos as a summer destination, which had previously been known mainly for winter tourism. The central image features a detailed illustration of a Mountain Apollo butterfly (Parnassius apollo), which is native to alpine regions. The use of this butterfly was intended to attract visitors to the health resort during the warmer months. The poster is a well-known example of classic Swiss poster art.
