The Saint

The Saint - Paperbacked (Poster) One sheet iconic poster for The Saint, a popular and exclusive gay nightclub that operated in the East Village of New York City from 1980 to 1988. The artwork depicts a shirtless man with rainbow-colored beams of light emanating from his eyes and fingers, and holding a hand to his heart. The poster was designed by the accomplished illustrator and artist Michael Vernaglia in 1980. Vernaglia is best known for this specific design and the club's logo. The venue, which was once a theater, was often referred to as the "Vatican of Disco" due to its large scale and celestial dance floor. The original offset lithograph posters from the 1980s are considered collectible art and have been sold at auction for significant amounts.
