Banque Industrielle (Poster) Antikbar 23 x 15 original antique French advertising poster from around 1920 for the Banque Industrielle de Chine (Industrial Bank of China). The poster, titled Emprunt de la Paix ("Peace Loan"), urged French citizens to invest in the bank to help finance the rebuilding efforts after World War I. Artwork: The poster features an exotic harbor scene in China, depicting traditional junk boats, ocean liners, and fishermen in the foreground, using an evocative visual to promote investment in the bank's Chinese operations. The bank, established in 1913, rapidly expanded but ultimately closed in 1921 due to a financial and political scandal.
