Movie Information
Stars and Directors: The serial was both written by and starred Grace Cunard (as Patricia Montez, "The Queen of the Apaches") and Francis Ford (as Detective Phil Kelly, "The Sphinx"). They were a well-known professional and personal team in the silent film era.
Plot: The story follows a wealthy socialite named Patricia who, after being snubbed by a famous detective, begins a life of crime as the mysterious "Purple Mask," stealing from the rich to give to the poor, in a continuous cat-and-mouse game with Detective Kelly.
Production: This was the last serial the Ford-Cunard team made together for Universal.
