is the seventh studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on October 19, 1973. It is a covers album, featuring songs by British bands from the 1960s that were influential to Bowie as a teenager.
The cover art features David Bowie and British supermodel Twiggy. The photo was taken in Paris by Twiggy's then-manager and partner, Justin de Villeneuve. It was originally intended for the cover of British Vogue magazine, but Bowie decided to use it for the album cover instead.
The album was a commercial success, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart, where it remained for five weeks. |
