The 39 Steps

Mounted Herald, Alfred Hitchcock, vintage German film program (titled "Filmpost Programm") for the classic Alfred Hitchcock thriller, "The 39 Steps" ("Die 39 Stufen"). The program features images of the film's stars, Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll, and includes a detailed synopsis in German. The 1935 film is widely regarded as one of Hitchcock's best British works, known for its exciting chase scenes and witty dialogue. The plot follows a man, Richard Hannay, who is mistakenly accused of murder and goes on the run to expose a spy ring. The story in the film differs significantly from the original John Buchan novel, notably by adding the main female characters and using "The 39 Steps" as the name of the organization rather than referring to physical steps.
