| | Attraction size, square, This image is a poster for the
1968 Summer Olympics (the XIX Olympiad) held in Mexico City. The iconic design was a collaborative effort, with the primary designers being American graphic designer Lance Wyman, Mexican architect Eduardo Terrazas, and Pedro Ramirez Vasquez. The design team was led by Ramirez Vasquez.
The visual identity of the games, including this poster, was considered groundbreaking. It is known for its "Op Art" style, which uses fine lines and optical illusions to create a sense of movement. The design of the logo cleverly integrates the Olympic rings with the numbers "68". It was also influenced by the vibrant colors and traditional textile patterns of the Huichol people of Mexico.
The posters for the Mexico 1968 Olympics are considered highly collectible. |
