Observatory Time, The Lovers

Observatory Time, The Lovers Fine Art lithograph by the artist Man Ray, titled A l'heure de l'observatoire—les amoureux (Observatory Time—The Lovers). The lithograph was created in 1970 and is based on Man Ray's iconic Surrealist painting of the same name from 1932–34. The work depicts a pair of enormous red lips floating in the sky over the Paris Observatory. The lips are believed to be inspired by those of Lee Miller, a photographer, model, and Man Ray's former lover. The painting was created after the end of their relationship and is a well-known symbol of Surrealist art
