"Wings for Victory" and was created by artist Ben Hooper. It is a British propaganda poster from World War II, part of the "Wings for Victory Week" fundraising campaign. The campaign was a nationwide effort to raise money for the Royal Air Force (RAF) by encouraging the public to buy war bonds. Each community was given a fundraising target, and the money raised was used to sponsor RAF aircraft, which were often named after the towns that contributed. The campaign was a great success, with the "Wings for Victory Weeks" raising over £615 million, which was equivalent to about £33.6 billion in 2023.
