The album, also known as Presenting the James Brown Show, was released on Smash Records. It was a live album that featured vocalists who performed with the James Brown Revue, such as "Baby Lloyd" Stallworth, Vicki Anderson, The Jewels, and James Crawford. The album was released under James Brown's name, and he is credited as the producer, arranger, and organist, but he did not sing on it due to contractual obligations with his previous record label, King Records.
