. The poster was created for the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), a British state-owned airline that operated from 1940 until 1974, when it merged with British European Airways (BEA) to form British Airways.
The artwork is attributed to British painter and illustrator Frank Wootton and was created around 1950-1955. It depicts a colorful scene with an elephant procession in front of a building that resembles a palace in India. This poster was part of a campaign to promote India as a travel destination. |
