The Rolling Stones' 1989 Steel Wheels North American Tour . The tour was launched to promote the band's album Steel Wheels and marked their return to touring after a seven-year hiatus. The North American leg of the tour began in August 1989 and was an immense financial success. The tour was also the last for the band's original bassist, Bill Wyman. |
