Wilderness Conference

Wilderness Conference (Poster) Concert poster, The poster is an advertisement for the 10th Biennial Wilderness Conference, sponsored by the Sierra Club and held in 1967 . The conference took place on April 7-9 at the San Francisco Hilton Hotel. The artwork was designed by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley, two well-known San Francisco psychedelic poster artists. The poster features an image of a Native American on horseback with arms outstretched, which was a theme often embraced in the San Francisco hippie culture of the mid-1960s. This particular poster is popular with collectors and was printed in a few variations, including the one with the yellow background seen in the image.
