One sheet, Drugstore Cowboy
is a 1989 American black comedy crime drama film directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Matt Dillon and Kelly Lynch. The movie is based on the autobiographical novel of the same name by James Fogle. It was theatrically released in the United States on October 6, 1989.
The plot follows a group of nomadic drug addicts in 1971 Portland, Oregon, who rob drugstores to support their habits. Matt Dillon plays the role of Bob Hughes, the leader of the group, and Kelly Lynch plays his wife, Dianne. After a tragedy befalls one of the group members, Bob decides to try and go straight, but leaving his past behind proves to be difficult. The film is noted for its realistic portrayal of drug addiction and its dark humor. |
