Adelaides Promise

After Fine art by Salvador Dali, The Crime is a lithograph by the surrealist artist Salvador Dalí from a series he created in 1969 titled "Three Plays by the Marquis de Sade". This artwork is also known as "Adelaide's Promise (The Crime) from The Marquis de Sade". The artwork features a theatrical scene with red curtains framing a snowy street at night. Three figures are seated in the foreground, facing the stage, with their backs to the viewer. In the middle of the snowy street, a small figure is visible. This print is a hand-signed, limited edition work on paper and is a part of a larger suite of 25 lithographs. The original gouache was created in 1967. It was published by Shorewood Publishers in New York.
