The Giant's Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site consisting of over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. The formation is a result of volcanic activity that occurred approximately 60 million years ago. The site is also famous for the legend of the giant Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn McCool) who is said to have built the causeway to fight a rival giant in Scotland. |
