Artists: The poster was designed by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley.
Artwork: The central image is a psychedelic parody of Smokey Bear, with a belt buckle that reads "SMOKE!" and a shovel that resembles a 12-string electric guitar. The text "KEEP CALIFORNIA GREEN" is also prominently featured.
Printing: The original posters were deliberately printed slightly out of registration to mimic the visual effects of an LSD trip. It is part of the Family Dog Poster Series (FD-16). Only 1,000 posters were printed for the original run. |
