British Railway Map

Mounted One sheet, vintage railway map of Scotland from the British Railways Scottish Region . The map shows the railway network, including steamer routes, and likely dates to the period before the mid-1980s, when the region was renamed ScotRail. The Scottish Region of British Railways was formed in 1948 and consisted of lines that previously belonged to the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). The map is a historical document that illustrates the extensive rail network in Scotland prior to the Beeching cuts of the 1960s, which significantly reduced the railway system's size.
