One sheet, La Norvège Le Pays du Ski
is a vintage travel poster from the 1930s promoting Norway as a winter sports destination. The text translates from French to "Norway the Country of Skiing".
The poster was designed in 1935 by Norwegian artist Dagfin Th. Hanssen (1904-1975). It was produced by the Norwegian State Railways and is considered a classic example of Art Deco style.
The poster depicts a skier in a traditional 1930s Norwegian outfit, including plus-four trousers, knitted stockings, and wooden skis, ascending a snowy mountain slope. The mountain peak in the background is Galdhøpiggen, the highest mountain in Norway.
