One sheet, This vintage travel poster, titled "Greece FLY TWA," was created by American artist David Klein in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Klein was known for his distinctive graphic style, and his work for Trans World Airlines (TWA) is considered iconic of mid-20th-century travel advertising.
The poster depicts a close-up view of a Corinthian column from the Parthenon in Athens, with the words "GREECE" and "FLY TWA" prominently displayed. Some versions of this poster, including the earlier ones, also featured a detailed Lockheed Constellation plane, which was later replaced by a jet.
Original posters by David Klein are highly sought after by collectors for their artistic and historical significance. |
