Plot Summary
The film follows Broadway star Julie Hampton (Lucille Ball), who visits a shipyard for a war bond rally. There, she meets an idealistic shipyard worker and aspiring playwright named William "Swanee" Swanson (Dick Powell), who has written a musical about the working class. Julie is impressed and pitches the idea to her producer.
