Polish one sheet, La Prisonnière
is a 1968 drama film directed by Henri-Georges Clouzot, also known by the English title Woman in Chains. The film is Clouzot's final completed work and his only one filmed in color. The story centers on a young woman who, while in an open marriage with an avant-garde artist, becomes obsessed with a voyeuristic art gallery owner who secretly takes perverse photographs of women.
The poster in the image depicts a central theme of the film, which explores voyeurism, dominance, submission, and the psychological complexities within the relationships of the three main characters. The film is also notable for its use of visual aesthetics, including psychedelic and abstract imagery that were originally intended for Clouzot's unfinished project, L'Enfer.
