Love Is News
is a 1937 American romantic comedy film starring Tyrone Power, Loretta Young, and Don Ameche. The movie is a screwball comedy about a newspaper reporter, Steve Leyton (Tyrone Power), who is constantly trying to get a scoop on a wealthy heiress, Tony Gateson (Loretta Young). In a twist, she decides to get revenge by announcing to the world that they are engaged, thrusting him into the media spotlight.
The film was directed by Tay Garnett and was the first film to give Tyrone Power top billing. It was later remade in 1947 as That Wonderful Urge, again starring Tyrone Power, but with Gene Tierney in the role of the heiress |
