King Kong vs. Godzilla
is a 1962 Japanese film produced by Toho Company Ltd.. The movie poster in the image is for the U.S. theatrical release of the film. The film was directed by Ishirô Honda and was the third Godzilla film produced, as well as the first time the two monsters appeared together on screen. It is known for its campy, wrestling-style monster battles, where King Kong and Godzilla fight on Mount Fuji. In this version, Kong's power was increased by electricity to make him a more even match for Godzilla.
The movie has been the subject of numerous re-releases, remakes, and tie-ins since its original release. The most recent iteration of this classic monster pairing is the 2021 film Godzilla vs. Kong, which is part of Legendary Pictures' "MonsterVerse" franchise |
