One sheet, vintage travel poster titled " Norway: The Cradle of Skiing." Designed by Norwegian artist Knut Yran, the poster dates to around 1951 and was created to promote Norway as a skiing destination. The design features a baby in a traditional Norwegian cradle with skis and poles, playing on the popular saying that Norwegians are "born with skis on their feet". The poster was used by Norwegian America Line and Pan American Airlines to advertise air travel to Norway. |
