Rosl Bucher

Mounted Small, original vintage advertising poster for the German publishing house, Rosl-Bücher (Rosl & Co. Verlag, München), designed by the German artist and illustrator Max Schwarzer (1882-1955). The poster, believed to be from around 1920, features a woman in a fur coat reading a book, with a man and a child also reading as they walk in the background. Max Schwarzer was a commercial artist who, in 1914, co-founded an artists' association called "The Six" to compete for advertising commissions. He was known for his work in the Art Deco and New Objectivity styles and also illustrated fairy tale volumes for the Rosl publishing house in the early 1920s
