Son of Zorro
is a 1947 American Western film serial produced by Republic Pictures. It was the 43rd of the 66 serials the studio produced. The serial features George Turner as a descendant of the original Zorro in the 1860s United States. Peggy Stewart also stars in the serial as Kate Wells.
The plot follows a man who returns home after the American Civil War to find that corrupt politicians have taken control of his county and are terrorizing the citizens. He then adopts the persona of his ancestor, Zorro, to fight for justice.
The serial consists of 13 thrilling chapters and was directed by Spencer Gordon Bennet and Fred C. Brannon. It was later re-released on December 23, 1957, and was also edited into a six-episode television series in the early 1950s |
