One sheet, Indestructible Man
is a 1956 American crime horror and science fiction film starring Lon Chaney Jr.. The movie tells the story of a criminal named Charles "Butcher" Benton who is executed in the gas chamber but is brought back to life by a scientist's experiment. The experiment makes Benton impervious to harm, and he seeks revenge on his former partners who double-crossed him.
Lon Chaney Jr. portrays a mute, menacing "Butcher" Benton for most of the film, as his vocal cords were fried during his reanimation, but his memory remained intact. The film has been described as a mash-up of sci-fi/horror and film noir, and is known for being a low-budget B-movie.
The film has also been featured on the television show Mystery Science Theater 3000. |
