is a 1986 fantasy action-adventure film directed by Russell Mulcahy. The film stars Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman who must face his rival, the Kurgan (Clancy Brown), in modern-day New York City to win the "Prize". The cast also includes Sean Connery as Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, MacLeod's mentor, and Roxanne Hart as Brenda J. Wyatt.
The movie initially received mixed reviews and was a box office failure, but later became a cult classic through home video. The film is known for its memorable tagline, "There can be only one," and its soundtrack, which features several songs by the rock band Queen.
