is a 1962 epic biographical adventure drama film directed by David Lean. It is based on the life of T. E. Lawrence, a British army officer who united and led Arab tribes during World War I to fight the Ottoman Turks. The film stars Peter O'Toole as Lawrence and Alec Guinness as Prince Faisal.
The film is widely considered one of the greatest ever made. It won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and is preserved in the United States National Film Registry. |
