is a brand of French waffles. The image is a vintage Art Deco-style advertisement for the product, with the text "GAUFRE RITA CRÈME SURFINE" and "LE PLUS AVANTAGEUX DES DESSERTS," which translates to "the most advantageous of desserts".
The poster, dating to around 1925, was printed by A. Thorez in Paris and is considered a rare original French food poster. Gaufre Rita waffles are soft, filled waffles, with varieties including vanilla, brown sugar (vergeoise), and honey. The brand was created in 1911 by brothers Alphonse and Alfred Demeuleneire, who opened a waffle-making workshop in Roubaix, France.
