Halfsheet, military, The Attack Begins in the Factory
is a British propaganda poster from World War II. The image and slogan are meant to connect the work of factory workers on the home front with the efforts of soldiers on the battlefield. The poster was created to boost morale and encourage production of war materiel by showing that manufacturing output directly contributed to military operations.
The poster was created around 1943. There are different versions of the poster, including one that depicts British Lancaster bombers on a night raid over a German city. Another version of the poster, similar to the one in the image, was designed by Leslie Oliphant. |
