US 3 sheet, The Giant Behemoth
is a 1959 black-and-white science fiction monster film directed by Eugène Lourié and Douglas Hickox. The film is also known by its alternate title, Behemoth, the Sea Monster.
Plot Summary
The film follows the chaotic revival of a prehistoric creature, a paleosaurus, that has been awakened by atomic tests and radiation in the ocean. The monster, which emits a deadly radioactive charge, makes its way to London. Scientists and the military must find a way to stop the beast without causing widespread radioactive contamination from its carcass. They ultimately use a mini-submarine to fire a torpedo filled with radium at the creature, killing it in the Thames.
