The work depicts a killer whale partially submerged in a transparent cube of water, with a small patch of grassy land on top where three cows are standing. Keyes's work is known for displacing animals from their natural ecosystems into "dioramic fantastical situations". This particular piece, like much of his art, touches on themes of migration, displacement, and the impact of climate change. |
