About the Bands
The Soft Boys: An influential English rock band known for their psychedelic music and retro folk-rock style. They were led by guitarist Robyn Hitchcock and formed in 1976. Their sound influenced later jangle pop, indie rock, and neo-psychedelia.
The Barracudas: An English surf rock and garage rock band that formed in late 1978. They are known for their 1980 hit single "Summer Fun".
The Brainiac 5: A psychedelic punk band from Cornwall, UK. They gained prominence with their 1978 "Mushy Doubt" EP, which was championed by DJ John Peel. The band's name is inspired by the DC Comics character of the same name.
About the Venue
The Africa Centre: Originally located in Covent Garden, The Africa Centre opened its doors to the public in 1964 and served as a space to promote African culture. It has since moved to new premises in Southwark. |
