The Monochrome Set The Monochrome Set is an English post-punk/new wave band formed in London in 1978. The band's early releases were on the Rough Trade label, and they were later signed to Virgin Records' DinDisc imprint. They were influential in the post-punk scene and have been cited as an influence by bands like The Smiths. Rema-Rema Rema-Rema was a short-lived English music group formed around the same time as The Monochrome Set, consisting of Gary Asquith, Marco Pirroni, Michael Allen, Mark Cox, and Dorothy "Max" Prior. The band broke up in late 1979. Their sole release during their existence was the four-track EP Wheel in the Roses on the 4AD label.
