Mounted Halfsheet kraftbacked, magic, Siegmund "Zishe" Breitbart: The Iron King The poster advertises the personal appearance of Siegmund "Zishe" Breitbart, a famous Polish-born Jewish strongman and circus performer known as "Der Eisenkönig" (The Iron King). He was considered one of the "greatest strongmen in the world" during the 1920s. The poster lists a number of his impressive feats, which include: Breitbart's fist as a hammer. Breitbart's chest as an anvil. Breitbart as a "living stone quarry." Tearing apart chains. Breaking iron without tools. Letting a truck drive over him. Holding a moving carousel on his "living bridge" (a platform built on his chest) while also holding a locomotive wheel with his teeth and having men suspended from it. His "humoristic feat of strength: The closed brothers". His iron skull. Breitbart's punch kills a horse. Breitbart is the only attraction in the world. Breitbart gained international fame for his strength, which he often incorporated into a persona that embraced his Jewish heritage. He died tragically at the age of 32 after a stage accident led to a fatal infection. He also starred in a 1923 silent film titled The Iron King (in German: Der Eisenkönig). Some have suggested he may have been an inspiration for the creators of Superman.
