The poster, titled "Lacs Anglais - Ullswater," was designed for a French-speaking audience to promote circular tours in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
The artwork, a lithograph, is attributed to Clément Charles Henri Quinton (1851-1920) and was created in the first decade of the 1900s. It depicts an idyllic scene of elegantly dressed figures from the Victorian or Edwardian era enjoying a picnic by Ullswater lake. A horse-drawn carriage and sailboats are also visible in the background.
The poster was printed by Courmont Freres in Paris. It is considered a genuine vintage poster and can be found at auctions and art dealers, with an original poster having been sold at Christie's for around GBP 862.
