Daybill Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
is a 1971 musical fantasy film based on Roald Dahl's 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The film stars Gene Wilder in the iconic role of the eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka. It tells the story of a poor boy named Charlie Bucket who, along with four other children, wins a chance to tour Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory after finding a golden ticket in a chocolate bar.
While not a box office hit upon its initial release, the film later gained a cult following and is now considered a classic. Gene Wilder's portrayal of Wonka earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Golden Globe Awards. |
