Roen Les Essarts

Mounted Halfsheet vintage poster for the 1959 Rouen-Les-Essarts Grand Prix, a motor race held in France. The race took place on July 12, 1959, and was for both Formula 2 and sports cars. The poster itself promotes the "7th Grand Prix Rouen-Les-Essarts" and also mentions the "4th Coupe Delamare Deboutteville". The original poster was designed by artist P. Oliver. The race was won by Stirling Moss, who drove a Cooper T45-Borgward in the Formula 2 race and a Maserati Tipo 60 in the sports car race. The Rouen-Les-Essarts circuit was a challenging road course located near Rouen, France, that ran on public roads through a wooded hillside. It was known for its fast sections, a cobbled hairpin turn, and a significant elevation change. The circuit hosted the French Grand Prix five times between 1952 and 1968 before being deemed too dangerous for Formula 1.
