Spirited Away

After Small Japanese movie poster for the acclaimed Japanese animated fantasy film Spirited Away (original Japanese title: Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi), directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. The Italian title "LA CITTÀ INCANTATA" is visible at the top of the poster. Film Overview Synopsis: The story follows Chihiro (the girl in the striped shirt on the left), a sullen 10-year-old girl who, while moving to a new town, gets lost in a mysterious world inhabited by spirits, gods, and witches. After her parents are magically transformed into pigs due to their greed, Chihiro must work in a bathhouse for the spirit world, where she must find courage and self-reliance to free herself and her family. Characters Pictured: Chihiro: The protagonist, who takes the name "Sen" while working at the bathhouse. No-Face (Kaonashi): The masked, semi-transparent spirit sitting next to Chihiro. This character is a symbol of loneliness and is impressionable, absorbing the negative traits of those around him until Chihiro helps him find a new path. Accolades: Spirited Away became the highest-grossing film in Japanese history for 19 years and was the first and only hand-drawn, non-English-language animated film to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
