Half sheet Queen of Blood
is a 1966 American science fiction horror film that was released as a double feature. The movie is notable for incorporating extensive special effects footage from a Soviet film and for having a plot that many believe inspired Ridley Scott's Alien.
Plot Summary
In the year 1990, humans have established a moon base and are planning missions to Mars and Venus. Earth receives a distress signal and transmission from an alien spacecraft, which ultimately crash-lands on Mars.
A human rescue mission led by astronauts John Saxon and Dennis Hopper finds the wreckage on Mars, but only discovers one dead alien. A follow-up mission to the Martian moon Phobos discovers a single survivor: a mysterious, green-skinned humanoid woman (the Alien Queen). As the crew transports her back to Earth, members of the team begin to die, drained of their blood to satisfy her "inhuman craving". A conflict arises between those who want to save the alien for scientific study and those who simply want to eliminate the threat. |
