FD-33 Grateful Dead

The artwork, titled "Skull and Roses" or "Skeleton & Roses", was created by the acclaimed psychedelic art team of Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley. Series: It is part of the Family Dog Productions series, officially cataloged as FD-33. Another famous, but different, "Skeleton & Roses" poster for an earlier show is FD-26. Iconic Image: Kelley and Mouse adapted the central skull-and-roses image from a 19th-century illustration by Edmund Joseph Sullivan, originally for a translation of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. This motif later became one of the most recognizable icons for the Grateful Dead.
