Oxford Circle show at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco, on November 4th and 5th, 1966. The artwork, titled "Skull and Roses" or "Skeleton & Roses", was created by the acclaimed psychedelic art team of Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley.

Iconic Image: Kelley and Mouse adapted the central skull-and-roses image from a 19th-century illustration by Edmund Joseph Sullivan, originally for a translation of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. This motif later became one of the most recognizable icons for the Grateful Dead. |
